-
For grey coverage, every 4 to 6 weeks is standard to keep new gray growth completely blended and seamless.
For a bleach and tone, every 4 to 6 weeks is also standard.
For a Double Process Root Touch Up, every 4 to 6 weeks is necessary to maintain a uniform base color across your scalp, as waiting longer allows the natural band of outgrowth to grow past the heat zone, requiring a multi-step process to correct.
-
Any root growth over 1 inch (past 6-8 weeks) is considered a Color Correction.
Waiting much longer (past 6–8 weeks) can lead to "banding" or uneven lift when the bleach re-processes against darker hair, and it increases the risk of hair breakage.
If you're unsure whether your roots need a simple retouch or a corrective service, send us a picture of your current roots in natural light or fill out the Consultation Form before your appointment!

Arrive with hair washed within the last 24 to 48 hours and worn in its natural state, free of heavy products, hats, or tight ponytails.
If you are receiving a dry cut or a curly specialized cut, come with your hair 100% dry, freshly washed and down in its natural state so your stylist can see how your pattern naturally sits.

Right after a color service:
Give your hair cuticles time to settle and lock in the pigments. Waiting 2 to 3 days before washing your hair for the first time helps prevent immediate color loss.
General Good Practices:
Hot water swells the hair cuticle, allowing color molecules to escape down the drain. Wash and rinse your hair with cool or lukewarm water to keep the cuticle smooth and seal in shine.
Harsh sulfates and heavy detergents strip away artificial pigment. Switch to a color-protecting, sulfate-free shampoo (like R+Co Metal Detector Detoxifying Shampoo) that gently cleanses without dulling your shade.
The more frequently you wash your hair, the faster color fades. Aim to wash 2 to 3 times a week, using a quality dry shampoo between wash days to absorb oil at the roots.

For Dry Hair: R+Co Atlantis Moisture & Healing Shampoo + Conditioner are great ways to restore deep moisture, smooth frizz, and revive tired, thirsty strands.
For Color-Treated Hair: We recommend R+Co Metal Detector Detoxifying Shampoo to protect your hair by neutralizing harmful metals and mineral buildup from tap water that cause color fading and dullness. It leaves your color vibrant, shiny, and fresh.
For Damaged Hair & Repair: R+Co On-A-Cloud Repair Bond Builder is great to repair broken bonds, strengthen weakened hair fibers, and restore soft, touchable strength to heat-damaged or chemically over-processed hair.

Because glosses are demi-permanent, they gradually fade over time with shampooing, heat styling, and sun exposure.
Most clients benefit from a gloss or toner every 4 to 8 weeks.
-
Clothes:
Avoid high collars, turtlenecks, hoodies, and bulky sweatshirts. Heavy or tall necklines push your hair up off your neck, making it difficult for your stylist to apply color evenly around your hairline and nape.
Hair Condition:
Arrive with dry unwashed (1 to 2days) hair.
The Consultation:
Save 2 or 3 photos of your ideal color goals.
Be ready to share your hair's history from the past 2–3 years (including home dyes, box color, or chemical treatments), as previous pigments affect how new color lifts.
