Welcome Universe to CutLoose BK!

We are thrilled to announce that Universe Walker will be joining the CutLoose team starting August 21st!

Universe Walker’s relationship with hair began at 15, sweeping floors and assisting at hair shows. At 16, she entered the rock ’n’ roll scenes of San Francisco, Hollywood, and New York, doing DIY hair for friends and bands. Returning to the salon, she completed two apprenticeships, building a career rooted in technical training, DIY culture, and music.

Universe specializes in dry, precision, and razor cutting across all textures, with a focus on shags, mullets, bobs, and bangs. Her cuts work with the hair’s natural movement. She also loves bold, intentional creative color, from pops and panels to block placement.

After years of advanced training, Universe created Juxtaposed Cutting—a method combining precision, razor, dry, and curly techniques—and now travels nationally as an independent educator. Above all, she offers an inclusive, collaborative space where clients can express themselves and leave with hair that feels unmistakably like them.
